I was hit with an interesting problem with my Fedora Core box this evening i wasnt able to see anything although i could hear it loading no problem. I know the last thing i did yesterday was to play with the resolution.  So my assumption is the resolution is screwed. I used my googlefu and managed to come up with a solution that was intended for another flavour of linux and the appropriate answer didnt work for me but i played with it and got it to run. Here is what i did….

I used <ctrl><alt><F1> to get to a text login. I did this from the blank screen i was getting from bootup, then i was able to login as root and do the following…..

$ cd /etc/X11

$ vim xorg.conf

I then went down through the file that loaded and then changed the Video Resolution under the Screen Section to 800×600 it was set to 400×460 which was why it wasnt working.
